About Loco Marathon and Half Marathon

Loco Half Marathon & Marathon logoThe Loco Marathon and Half Marathon is a long-running race that takes place in Newmarket, New Hampshire. The first race was held in 2014 by Loco Races, and it has been held every year since then.

Both the half and full marathon courses wind through four towns in New Hampshire: Newmarket, Lee, Epping, and Newfields. The course is mostly flat, but there are a few hills along the way with the final few miles of both courses along a non-paved, recreational rail trail through scenic woodlands. The views of the countryside are beautiful, and the race is a great way to see some of the best that New Hampshire has to offer.

The Loco Half Marathon course is the same as the marathon course, but it is only half as long. The half marathon is a great option for runners who are new to running marathons, or for runners who want to challenge themselves but don’t want to run a full 26.2 miles.

The Loco Marathon is a Boston Marathon qualifying race. This means that runners who finish the race with a qualifying time can earn a spot in the Boston Marathon. The Boston Marathon is one of the most prestigious marathons in the world, and it is a dream for many runners to qualify for the race. The Loco Marathon course was recently nominated by Runner’s Rave as the Best Marathon in the US. With its flat, fast course, Loco Marathon is one of the easiest qualifying marathons available. Plus, the post-race party with delicious food, live music, and complimentary beer (21+)* makes it an event you won’t want to miss.
