MARATHONERS: Important: be sure you can finish the first half by 2:30.  The course will be pulled after this time and you will not be allowed to run the second loop and you may be pulled from the course.

MARATHONERS: You must bring a photo id to registration to get your bib number ! ! !

You will not get your bib number without a photo id.

Marathon runners must pick up their own race number.  Marathon numbers will only be released to the registered runner.
No exceptions.



When can I pick up my bib and shirt?Sunday: 6 :30 – 8 AM – Rockingham Ballroom, 22 Ash Swamp Rd. Newmarket, NH 03857

Parking: There is no parking near registration, the start of finish.  A Free shuttle bus will bring you from the Newmarket Industrial Lot to Registration.

When is the race?

Sunday October 29, 2017 with an 8:00 am Start.

Where is the start? The race starts by the Rockingham Junction – adjacent to the registration area.

When do I line up at the start?

Please plan to line up in the start corral by 7:50 AM.

Is there a Bag Check Area?

There will not be an official bag check, but runners may leave bags inside the Ballroom until 1:00 PM

Articles of clothing that are left unclaimed after the race

will be donated to a local shelter. LOCO Sports is not liable for any losses or theft that runners may incur.

When should I arrive before the race?

The earlier the better! Arrive at least 60 minutes before the race to insure you have time to park and get to the start.

Can I run with a baby stroller?

No, for safety reasons, strollers are not allowed on the course.

Can I run with headphones or earbuds?

So that you can hear traffic, and race marshals and for safety reasons, we strongly discourage the use of headphones on the course.

Can I run with my dog?

No, dogs are not allowed on the course.

Can I get a refund if I register but don’t run?

Sorry, once you have registered, there are no refunds.

You may not transfer your number to another person.

No Transfer, No Refunds, No deferrals.

Can I reserve a shirt in a certain size?

No. When you check the box next to a t-shirt size on your registration form, you’re not reserving a shirt, you’re helping us work out how many shirts we need to order in each size. If it’s really important that you get a shirt in your size, please come early to avoid disappointment. (Shirts will not be mailed out after the event if you do not pick yours up)


Shirts:

All registered entrants will receive a technical wicking commemorative race shirt. (picked up when you receive your bib. No shirts will be mailed out.)


Lodging:

10 minutes: Durham has Holiday Inn Express
10 Minutes: Exeter has Hampton Inn and Fairfield Inn chains as well as the Exeter Inn (quaint but more expensive).
20 minutes: Dover, NH is also nice, would have many chain and inexpensive options
25 Minutes: Portsmouth is a wonderful small city with great restaurants and downtown charm.. chains and smaller inns, with the Hotel Portsmouth leading the way.

Will I receive a finisher’s medal?

Of course! All official finishers of the Marathon and Half marathon will receive a custom medal to mark their achievement. We can only give medals to those with numbers, so make sure to pin your number on securely on the front of your shirt.

What is the time limit for the Marathon?

YES. Due to traffic and volunteer considerations, please do NOT attempt the marathon unless you can finish in under 5 hours.

What is the time limit for the Half Marathon?

The course time limit for the Half Marathon is 3 hours.

NOTICE: Marathoners must be through the half way point by 2:30

Does the Half Marathon qualify me for the BAA Boston Marathon?

No, only the Marathon event is a qualifier for the BAA Boston Marathon.

Will there be pacers?

Yes, we currently have pace guides running at 7:00, 7:15, 7:25, 7:35, 8:00, 8:10, 8:25, 8:55 minutes per mile.

 

May I switch from the Marathon to the Half Marathon?

Yes, you may elect to drop down from the marathon to the half marathon. There will be no rebate for price difference.

Are the roads closed for the race?

The roads are NOT closed for this race. We have police and race marshals at all corners, but please be aware of traffic on the course.

In congested areas though there is a lane of cones for the runners. Please run within the cones for your own safety.

What distance is this race?

This is a certified USATF accurate marathon – 13.1 and 26.2 miles. The course is certified, accurate and well marked. .

About GPS course measurements

Both coursed are certified and accurate according to USATF standards. However your GPS measurement of the course is bound to be different and most likely show the distance covered to be “long”. Not to worry, here is a very technical explanation why. Click Here

Where are the aid stations?

Waterstations and one energy gel station per half marathon loop:

Water: Miles 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13.2, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24
Gatorade:  Miles 5, 9, 18, 22
Gel:  Miles 6.8, 13.2, 19.8 

Will there be changing facilities before the race?

No there are no changing facilities available. Please show up ready to run.

Will there be restroom facilities?

Portapotties will be located at the start and on the course at each aid station.

Are there Award for top finishers?

Yes, there are awards for top overall finishers, female and male, as well as age group winners. Look for the Awards Table inside the Ballroom.

You must be present to receive your award. Awards will NOT be mailed.

 

*If we get participants over 70 or 80 who qualify according to our standards, the course will remain open only for those runners.
